A nice picture of the beautiful minivan. This is a vintage 1989 Dodge Caravan, one of the few reamaining examples of the now extinct minivan species. This stunning vehicle is propelled by its front wheels by a 3.0 Liter V-6 engine.

Another shot of the beautiful vehicle. Notice the nice stock steel wheels and the low-profile performance tires.

The inside view of the van. The Panasonic CD player is mounted in the stock location. Otherwise the interior looks stock.

A closer view of the CD Player. Because Chrysler vehicles have DIN and a half decks (bigger than normal) I made a fiberglass trim panel to replace the stock trim panel. With this trim panel the deck looks to be stock, unlike the appearance of a standard mounting kit. Also, there is a row of buttons on the left, at the bottom of the dash which controlled the power supply for the amps.

The view from the driver's seat of the front speakers. The Soundstream components were mounted in the stock location. The woofers went in the stock 5 1/4 opening, while the tweeters were surface mounted onto the stock grilles. This allowed greater flexibility in positioning the tweeters for a good soundstage.

The speakers with the grille removed. The blue thing around the mid is a gasket for the speaker as the stock location was not sealed well. I also made some fiberglass enclosures for the speakers, that just dropped into the dash, as there was lots of room in there.

This is the view of the middle bench seat. Under the bench are the two Blaupunkt 5 1/4 coaxials. These speakers were mounted in boxes made of MDF and are held in place under the seat by that black panel in the middle. This proved to quite stealth, even without tinted windows, you coudln't tell that there was speakers under the seat.

This is the view of the van with the tailgate open. You can see that there is a big black box in the stock cargo area. This was made from wood and covered with black cloth. The box housed the two Paradigm home speakers, they were flush with the top and fired upwards. The sub was also housed in this box. This was pretty stealth, you couldn't tell what was in there. It just looked like a cargo seperator.

This is the view of the driver's side front seat. The Phoenix Gold amp was mounted under the seat, along with the distribution block and one of the crossovers for the front speakers. The amp is protected by a black fiberglass trim panel that is reinforced with wood. The trim panel press-fits in place and is quite secure. It also keeps the amp from being visible.

A picture of the Phoenix Gold QX2100, that was mounted under the driver's seat, here the driver's seat has been removed. You can also see the distribution block mounted to the frame of the seat. The power cable from the battery was 4 guage and from the ditribution block to the amps the cable was 8 guage.

Another picture of the Phoenix Gold amp, looking down. The blue box is the crossover for the Soundstream components. It was eventually mounted under the seat, away from the amp and power cable to minimize any effect of the power cables causing noise. Also all the power wires was run on one side of the vehicle while the signal wires were run on the other side.

A view of the Kenwood amp. Normally the amp was covered by the rearmost bench. In this picture the bench has been removed. At the time of the picture I was working on the system in order to conceal the speaker wires that are visible.

Another view of the interior, both benches have been removed and the amp is visible. This four-channel amp powered the two sets of rear speakers and the pair of components in the dash. Behind the amp is the box that houses the two home speakers and the sub.

This is what the box looks like with the cloth cover removed. At the top of the box are the two home speakers and at the right is the sub box. The sub box is held in place and the port fires into the wall in order to reinforce the bass.

Here the box has been removed and the sub box is fully visible. The sub box was ported and made from 3/4 inch MDF. If was powered by the Phoenix Gold amp through 10 guage speaker cable.

A picture of the vehicle being worked on. All the benches are removed and some of the interior trim panels have been removed too.
